SUPPLEMENT INFORMATION

Many of our users report phenomenal results using DURATHON- but we often get questions related to product efficacy and the responsibility of governing authorities to regulate the industry.
Why Can't Drug information bodies control the supplement industry?

Bodies such as the Australian Sports Drug Agency (ASDA) as well as the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) are unable to guarantee the status in sport of supplement products, as they are not subject to the same testing as registered pharmaceutical's. There is a chance not all ingredients will be listed on the label of a supplement product. In a 2001 I international Olympic Committee (IOC ) study, they reported that out of 634 supplements tested, 94 (15%) contained substances that would result in a positive drug test. Of these 94 products, 23 contained banned prohormones that metabolize to both nandrolone and testosterone in the body. In addition to these 94, another 66 (another 10%) returned borderline results! These findings highlight why ASDA is unable to guarantee supplement products.

What can we do to assist in the assurance of product efficacy ?

Australia has devised a program call the Supplement Information Scheme to assist consumers in selecting supplements that meet their needs based upon manufacturers claims. The scheme involves supplement manufacturers having their product independently tested through the Australian Government Analytical Laboratories (AGAL) as a third party independent analysis. The results of this testing are used to assist the manufacturer to provide a legally binding written guarantee as to the absence of banned performance enhancing substances and the authenticity of the ingredients in their product. Those manufacturers willing to issue a guarantee to athletes will be part of a Supplement Product Information Database. Durathon is now part of this database Click here to see AGAL's certificate for Durathon.

Is there anything I can do as a consumer to make the right choices for my health?
